We are big believers in the dignity of risk because our older companions and those with dementia have taught and shown us that living fully includes risk, and every one of them is good with that truth.
If an older adult is having some falls, are we sure that full-time care (regularly recommended by the healthcare system) is the answer? Should we take a moment to consider our own thoughts about the risk involved in living fully? I suspect none of us who are not yet elderly would wish to have our lives limited by others because of the risk involved in living fully.
