My dad drew his last breath a week and a half ago. If you have read this blog for a while, you have read that he was experiencing advancing dementia and I had the honor of managing his care and helping provide his care.
My dad was one of the good ones. I’ll post more details following his memorial service on February 23. But because he was one of the good ones, his loss is acute and such a stark contrast to having him here.
For sure, I will never regret my time with him; helping him live well and helping ensure that he finished well.
God was good to put all the pieces in place to make my caring for him possible.
My heart hurts, but mostly my heart is filled with gratitude for my dad, for my time with him in these last years, and for the thousand special memories we shared.
